Ron Davis

Ron Davis knows the value of persistence.

Ron, a DMV ambassador and Pennsylvania resident, underwent a high-risk heart transplant two years ago at Allegheny General Hospital. Despite the risk due to past cancer treatments, Ron and his doctors believed in his ability to recover.

“I never gave up and pushed forward every day as I still do. There is always hope.”

Since his transplant, Ron spends as much time as possible with his grandson and pushes himself to stay in shape by walking. In fact, he recently completed his 2,000th tracked mile since his transplant.

As a DMV ambassador, Ron speaks to students about the importance of saying yes to donation when they get a driver’s license. He also visits CORE twice a week to prepare packages that are given to donor families.

Ron thinks of his donor constantly and aims to live the best life possible in their memory.
