Vicki Piccotti
Martins Creek, PA
Cornea Recipient
In the last decade, Vicki Piccotti has received two sight-restoring cornea transplants, allowing her to pick up a new hobby and continue to enjoy life.
Vicki, a Martins Creek native, received a cornea transplant in 2011 and again in 2017. After her second surgery, Vicki and her husband Al, who is a tissue transplant recipient, decided to start ballroom dancing classes.
After only three months of practice, Vicki and Al participated in the 2018 Transplant Games, an Olympic-style competition for recipients and living donors of all ages.
The Piccottis represented Team Philadelphia, bringing home two silver medals in ballroom dancing and one bronze medal in cornhole.
Vicki said that the chance to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation at the Transplant Games was an honor.
“There are too many people on lists waiting for organs,” she explained.
Organ donations help someone’s story go on and on. Register today to change lives tomorrow.
