Lancaster County, PA
Kidney transplant recipient

In June of 2014, Keith “Bubba” Wagner, a young boy from southern Lancaster County, experienced the gift of organ donation when he received a life-saving kidney transplant.

Keith was born with a genetic disorder called Polycystic Kidney Disease that causes loss of kidney function over time, forcing him to need a new organ at only 6 years old.

Despite his medical obstacles, Keith’s mom, Tonya, says his infectious spirit shined through and helped them during their toughest days in the hospital.

“The doctors and nurses weren’t used to patients in the ICU dancing and singing,” Tonya explained.

Two weeks after his surgery, Keith no longer needed dialysis and was able to return home to his family and start living a normal childhood. He loves Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles and Phillies, and continues to dance, sing and enjoy life thanks to the heroic organ donor who saved his life.
