Amanda Chivington

Amanda Chivington, a photography student at Butler County Community College, was 22 when she died unexpectedly from a blood clot in her lungs that had traveled to her heart. Described as very loving, caring and giving, Amanda was the first person to help anyone that needed it.

Although Amanda was not able to donate her organs, she was able to make a difference and enhance the lives of many by donating her cornea and tissue. One of her recipients was a 1-month-old little girl that was born blind. Thanks to Amanda’s healing gift, she can now see.

Her parents, Mary and Steve are amazing volunteers and big supporters of Donate Life. They both attend and host events to raise awareness for donation, and Mary often speaks at presentations to share Amanda’s story. They said, “We have heard from several of her recipients and what a gift it is to us knowing she lives on in others because of her choice to be a donor. She is missed every minute of every day. She is truly our Angel and our Hero.”
