There are two quick and easy ways to sign up:

Sign up online.

Sign up to be an organ and tissue donor at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation website. It only takes 30 seconds.

When you sign up online, your status as a registered donor will be reflected in your driver’s record and you will not receive a new license. All you need is your driver’s license/photo ID number, date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number. Sign up online now.

Sign up when you get or renew your driver’s license, learner’s permit or photo ID.

Check “yes” for organ and tissue donation when you get or renew your driver’s license, learner’s permit or photo ID. The words “Organ Donor” will be placed below your photo and in your computer record with the Pa. Department of Transportation. If you are under age 18, however, you’ll need a parent or guardian’s signature to have the donor designation placed on your driver’s license, learner’s permit or photo ID card.

Tell your family and friends.

Even if you’ve signed up to be a donor, it’s important that the people closest to you know and understand your wishes. Also, you might inspire someone else to make the same life-saving decision to donate. Spread the word about organ donation.
